日本隊長 Hitto Nagayoshi帶領他的球隊全勝拿下U-18男壘世界冠軍,並且獲選MVP。

週日在紐西蘭北帕麥斯頓U-18男壘世界盃,日本在兩分落後下展開反攻,以9-2完成他們的不敗紀錄,第三度拿下世界冠軍。捷克以2-0擊敗阿根廷取得銅牌。

日本是參加過全部十二屆比賽的三個國家的其中之一,曾在第一屆1981年與2016年贏得冠軍。

這一次,日本隊用盡了各種方式擋下了青年世界冠軍澳洲試圖連續拿下冠軍的努力。澳洲在2018年的比賽決賽以6-1擊敗日本。這ㄓ

這支排名最高的球隊九場比賽全盛,隊長 Hitto Nagayoshi 在整個錦標賽繳出穩定的表現贏得最有價值球員。

十七歲的 Nagayoshi在世界冠軍戰打下一分打點、跑回一分,與 Rui Mimoto、Masaru Nishimori與Koka Yagi共同繳出優異的表現。Nagayoshi 在這次錦標賽打出 .412打擊率,與捷克的 Adam Buchner同為10分打點。

同時,世界第七的捷克完成了歷史性的一役,在擊敗第二的阿根廷後拿下銅牌。這支歐洲隊伍拿下他們的史上首面獎牌,並且在過去兩屆比賽都是第七名後,創下參賽名次最高紀錄。

他們的先發投手 Jakub Osicka 再一次的證明他在投手圈內的宰制力,13度三振對手,僅被擊出一支安打,確保了第三名的位置。Osicka 1.13 防禦率與 84次三振都是榜上排名最高。
